Question: Why does the program not update my backup instead of replacing everything when I use a COMPLETE DRIVE as item to backup??
Answer: This is no issue from v1.6 onwards. Easy to handle however with earlier versions: when editing the smd-file then just remove the backslash in the "item to add"-line before you push "add".
Question: I got my registered copy of SmartDirCopy but the restrictions are not gone??
Answer: You forgot to replace the unregistered exe by the registered exe-file. Please read install.txt.
Question: Why does the program suddenly abort during a backup? Or a file has been copied well the first time but why is not the correct name kept, the extension is not there... . Or in an update phase a file is removed from backup due to this incorrect 'name copy'...
Answer: This problems has all to do with one thing: you use very long file names. An example of such a name: 'This document has been written in Microsoft Word and describes mainly how beautifull the wetter was during our holiday in Spain.DOC'. Some media like CD and ZIP tend not to support fully the very long file names of Windows. However as long as you limit the file names to 127 characters there should be no problems!
